Gamer Girl

Maddy knew what it was like to be in the “It” crowd, at least in her group of Goths. Until her parents split and she had to move to Unicorn Land. One minute she’s surrounded by black eye liner, Doc Martin boots, and fish nets, and the next it’s Abercrombie and Fitch. Could things get any worse? Why yes, yes they could. When Maddy’s grandmother decided to fulfill her grandmotherly duties, she was donned the name Freak Girl. Luckily one fine birthday afternoon Maddy’s dad came through and bought her Fields of Fantasy, the computer game she has always wanted. In the game world Maddy was the beautiful Allora, an elfin princess who can slay any mythical creature who stands in her way. Add a little romance into the picture and Maddy couldn’t be happier. To bad it was all virtual.

I absolutely LOVED Gamer Girl. I loved Maddy's quick wit and how every page put a smile on my face. The humor was enough to make me want to read it over and over again. I even had fun writing this review. This book demonstrates the hardships some teens go through, but it also tells us that there is always something to look forward to. I would like to see a sequel to this book.
