Red

Gina Santiago, or Red as she is called, is a member of the International Police Tactical Team, IPTT for short. In this futuristic, post-apocalyptic world, she has devoted her life to protecting the people from heinous criminals, and now she is after the worst. On her own, with no backup, her case leads her to a small town where anyone could be a suspect, even the sexy sheriff, Morgan Hunter. She knows he is hiding something, and in her search for the truth she finds out that she has been hiding something as well.

Jordan Summers has done a phenomenal job creating a futuristic, paranormal world. I could easily picture the setting in my mind. The world has become a harsh place, yet society has moved on and rebuilt their lives. They have found a new way to live, but it’s a dangerous world. There are no more countries, there are now Republics, and if you aren’t registered to one then you are an Unknown, and you are the enemy. There are also the Others, vampires and shape shifters who were created in labs to help fight in wars. Most people believe they are all extinct; some believe they are in hiding and should be hunted down. It is a fascinating world that I want to learn more about. As for Red, at first she seems a little cold, but I quickly warmed up to her and I liked her. She seems real to me, and I appreciate that. She is not known for being gentle, and she knows she is good at what she does. Morgan is the perfect partner for Red. If Red is cold, then Morgan is hot and together they are explosive. There are a few important secondary characters, and a bunch I want to learn more about. Red is full of the unexpected, and I could hardly put it down. Jordan Summers has created a unique world that kept me guessing, and I loved it.
