Simon comes into Tia’s life out of nowhere one stormy night and changes everything she ever knew. Her friends try to tell her that Simon is dangerous to her, and even though she knows they are right, she can’t stay away from him. Simon says they are soul mates, but Tia doesn’t know whether to believe him or her friends who insist Simon is just trying to increase his magical powers. Once Simon’s enemies become aware of her, Tia has no choice but follow her heart and trust Simon.

Secrets of the Dark is a unique twist on fantasy romance. There are different types of magical people, and in this story Simon is supposedly the wrong type. Simon only wanted to feed his powers when he meets Tia, but he can’t stay away from her. As soon as he learns she is in trouble he does what he has to in order to keep her safe. Simon is a character I loved to read about. He’s a mysterious bad boy, and I wanted more and more of him. Tia is also a character I enjoyed. She doesn’t shy away from the bad guys, or from doing what she wants. Amanda Sidhe has created an interesting world that I would definitely like to read more about.
