Vampiropolis 2: Discovering Passion
All Lida Sandros wants is to fall in love and settle down. She’s done the first. Twice. But the men in her life seem to want to travel the world rather than be with her. The first love of her life, Xavier, opted for the life of a treasure hunter and she just broke up with her newest beau, Carlo, because he wants to travel the world opening new restaurants. Will she ever find her happily-ever-after?
One evening, Lida’s friend, Aki, cryptically hands her a gold armband and hurriedly disappears as the energy from the armband causes Lida to lose consciousness. After waking, she attempts to shake off the odd dreams that assaulted her sleep. She then realizes the peculiar piece of jewelry is none other than an ancient artifact thought to have once belonged to Hannibal, the founder of a mysterious vampire district within Vampiropolis. Is it any coincidence that on the heels of the cuff’s arrival, Xavier appears as well? When he vows that he’s returned not for the bracelet but for Lida’s forgiveness and love, will she believe him? What’s more, will she allow herself to love him again?
Discovering Passion is author Selena Illyria’s second foray into the world of Vampiropolis. The first explored the journey of Lucien and his mate Nevada. This story showcases Lucien’s smart and savvy sister, Lida. Both are able to be read as stand alone stories, but should they both be read, they should be read in order.
Xavier enthralls as the vampiric male who has spent years chasing after his own origins and archeological treasures, but when push comes to shove, he realizes that no amount of adrenalin, created by the thrill of the hunt can compare to the thrill he feels in Lida’s arms.
Lida is a feisty, independent female who shows her vulnerability in desiring the love of a man, but certainly isn’t weak willed and simpering when confronted by her past lover. The sex between the two is sizzling. Certainly not a cold water event, it will have women everywhere reaching for the ice to cool down or a lover to sate their heated libidos.
The dream sequence when Lida’s friend Aki gives her the armband is engaging. Realizing at the end of the story that that sequence wasn’t to be resolved, I eagerly anticipate the next Vampiropolis installment. Ms. Illyria, thanks for another great tale. I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.
