First Sight to Last

Singer McLaine, Special Agent, has the ability to perform successful missions by camouflaging herself and maneuvering where others can’t often go. When two police detectives suddenly disappear, Singer is called upon to use her skills to locate the missing men. One thing she never expected was the dynamite blow that would hit her heart once she came face to face with Detective Evan Wolcott. She feels she has found her soul mate but Evan is quick to prove her wrong. Not allowing anyone to see her hurt over how he treats her, she pushes thoughts of Evan out of her mind. Evan knew once he heard he needed a wife for a partner to capture Viza Burdett, Singer would be the perfect choice. If they can’t convict Viza for murder, they will go for drugs, weapons or anything to put the man behind bars. What begins as a way to get rid of Viza turns into much more when Evan learns the undercover plan, to pose as husband and wife shows Viza wants Singer for himself, and plans to take care of Evan. Of course there is a little hitch, the pseudo marriage will be authentic and once the task is over, the marriage can be annulled. While Singer would rather not be near Evan, her heart says otherwise as they try to stay at bay while fighting the danger around them.

I just love a good book with the right chemistry that brings the characters together romantically, yet lean toward danger around every corner. Sharon Horton pens a read that hooked this reader from the start. I really like the way she paints Singer, giving her pizzazz and a feisty spirit. I enjoyed the dialogue between Singer and Evan, and their expressions that just consume the reader. First Sight to Last is a story that grips, allowing the audience to share in the hardships the couple endure. Singer and Evan have a way of not only connecting with each other, but also with the reader. There were times I wanted to be there for them. With a great plot, sensational secondary characters, and intrigue that bites, this is one story that I found excellent. By adding a little bit of miscommunication, some shady characters and an interesting couple trying to push their feelings away, I discovered a story that left me feeling good all over.
