The Werewolf Whisperer
Serena O’Toole is the hostess of a popular television show called “Woof”, a program where she trains some of the most difficult dogs. One evening she receives a call from Jackson, the Sheriff of a town called Eclipse, informing her that her brother has disappeared and reappeared but estranged and hiding from his well-meaning rescuers. Jackson asks Serena to come to the small desert town of forty to try to draw her brother, Mike, who is a bestselling horror author, out of hiding. When Serena arrives in Eclipse the following morning, she is stunned to discover how strange all the residents act, including the sexy Sheriff Jackson. Serena finds her brother fairly fast and he is shipped off to the hospital for contracting what the residents refer to as Valley Fever. Naturally, being concerned about her brother’s health, she decides to spend the night in his house, only to discover the study has been completely trashed and has dog urine soaking the carpeting. Ben, who appears to be the town’s leader, has developed a fascination for the television star and has developed a sort of obsession with her. Jackson tries his best to convince Serena to leave, but without knowing her brother’s condition, and finding out he’s not where they say he is she decides to stay and figure out the mystery of this tiny town.
I thoroughly enjoyed The Werewolf Whisperer by Ericka Scott. It was a light and mysterious read from page one all the way to the finale, which will leave you begging for another book! I really felt Serena’s frustration with her budding romance between her and Jackson and her aversion to men in general. I completely sympathized with her and everything she was going through with the town and her brother and wished I could jump right in and give her a hand! I would recommend this book to just about everyone I know! I am keeping my fingers crossed that Ms. Scott turns The Werewolf Whisperer into a series!
