Lying Eyes and Alibis

Janelle Hart is living a life that she never thought she would. Her boyfriend is into organized crime, and she knows too much. She finally packs up her daughter and their cat and runs away to a small Colorado town. She changes her looks and name to JC and thinks that maybe, just maybe, she and her daughter are finally safe and are going to live a normal, happy life. She thinks her secrets are safe until she runs into Josh, her online friend of two years. Will he recognize her with her blonde hair?

Josh can’t believe the attraction he feels for the blonde he meets at the grocery store, or the feeling that something is familiar about her. When he finds out her true identity, he understands his unusual feelings for JC. They are both keeping deadly secrets. Can they make it through alive and in love?

Lying Eyes and Alibis by JT Schultz was an interesting and sometimes confusing book for me to read. Mrs. Schultz did a great job giving the characters of this story plenty of depth and personality. It was this and the many secrets of the book that threw me off kilter a time or two. Generally, I follow along with secrets and suspense in a book very well, but I found that this story did not flow together easily at times. That being said, I had a hard time putting this book down from the very first line. It kept my attention, and I found myself thinking about it when I wasn’t reading it. The attraction and sex between JC and Josh was hot, and the unsaid love was sweet. Overall, this book was good and by the end of the story, all of my confusion was gone. This was my first JT Schultz book, and I will be looking for more from this author.
