Brilliant Disguise

Brilliant Disguise by J. L. Wilson is an erotic contemporary suspense story.

Shannon Delgardie can’t believe what a scum bag her dead husband, John, was and even though he is dead she can’t forgive the verbally abusive cheat that he was. She decided to move back home to New Providence, Iowa to her roots. At the same time, Nick Baxter who works for the FBI was sent to get close to Shannon to find out what she knows about John’s activities and arrest her with the goods. Much to Nick’s disbelief he finds himself in a small town where spreading news (good and Bad) is faster than a spy network. Nick is under a misconception that New Providence is just a quiet rural town, when in truth, most of the towns people have ties high up in the governmental ranks and aren’t hesitant to use them. Nick finds himself unable to ignore how beautiful Shannon is both inside and out. Add to that a quirky and sneaky personality that causes Nick to question the direction of his life. Shannon has many secrets that Nick can’t wait to unravel, but as things spiral out of control, can Shannon and Nick find a way out of the dangerous situations that seem to encircle Shannon while they are exploring their budding feeling s for each other?

Ms. Wilson has created a story with enough suspense and heart that ensnared me from the first paragraph. Shannon is a vibrant character who comers to life for the reader. Her crazy friends and hacker friends bring hilarity and fun to the story. I loved how even the best efforts of the FBI were mostly one-upped by Shannon, her family, and their own. The suspense and drama keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what could go wrong next. Shannon’s mother Katherine isn’t your typical mother who knows her daughters well enough to let them do what they need to. She knows that they were taught to take care of themselves in the most unusual way by their father, another fascinating and remarkable man. I will be looking forward to reading other books by this incredible author.
