Lord and Master 2: Taking Work Home

Lord and Master 2: Taking Work Home by Jules Jones is the second book in the Lord and Master series, it should be noted that it takes place before the epilogue at the end of the first book.

Mark never thought that the interview he was sent on by his PhD supervisor would be instrumental in changing his life. One glance between him and his boss, Steven Frost, a very rich business man, was all it took and they feel head over heels for one another. Even though they had many obstacles to overcome, Mark and Steven worked through them together. Mark may be twenty years younger than Steven, but they have a give and take relationship filled with love and trust. Steven has a visit from his niece Nikki and to both Nikki and Mark’s surprise; Steven has already made plans for what he wants to do with his company, involving both of them. Steven has a manic/depressive condition that seems to be getting harder to manage even with Mark’s help. Things start to heat up when Steven and Mark plan a trip to visit Steven’s family over the holidays. How will everyone react when Steven introduces Mark, let alone the questions pertaining to Steven’s successor?

Jules Jones has continued this series with the perfect sequel that answers many questions left by the previous story. The descriptions about how Steven’s manic/depressive condition can get triggered are very accurate. I have worked in the field of psychiatry and have seen many people respond similarly. Mark’s method of taking care of Steven when he is getting out of control shows the depth of love and understanding that exists between them. The realistic way Jules Jones shows how different people in Steven’s family respond to Mark and Steven is probably how it would happen in your average family. The love and devotion shown between Mark and Steven is evident in their every day life and each time they are intimate. I hope that this isn’t the end of their story. There are many questions I have about their future and the future of Steven’s niece Nikki. Thanks go to Jules Jones for an incredible addition to the Lord and Master Series.
