Diura
Diura by A. J. Llewellyn is book eleven in the Phantom Lover series.

Kimo and Lopaka are completely in love with each other so when California law changed to allow same sex marriage they flew their entire family from Hawaii for the ceremony. According to Huna law they were married through ancient tribal right, but Kimo is determined to continuously pledge his love for Lopaka. Unfortunately, after the ceremony Kimo receives a request from the Huna council to bring beby Kimo to them so they can tatto his arm, as is their manner to mark him as their own. Kimo was taken as a young child by the council to be raised in Huna tradition. Unfortunately, he missed all of the fun things a child does growing up. He never really had Christmas or birthday parties until he met Lopaka, who is determined that Kimo will learn the joys of family and love. Kimo and Lopaka disagree about allowing the Huna to take their beloved Kimo, but in the end Lopaka's need for his child overrides all others. A little recreational intimacy filled with gossamer fairy wings and combat boots heals wounds, but this leaves them with one very large problem. How are they going to deal with the decree from the Huna council and keep their family intact? Will Kimo and Lopaka keep their love alive in the face of these seemingly insurmountable problems?

Mr. Llewellyn has continued his phenomenal Phantom Lover series with this incredible story. The love between Lopaka and Kimo is beautiful to watch, even when it is tested by the decree from the Huna council. Lopaka shows just who is boss when he is faced with the threat of loosing baby Kimo the same way Kimo's parents lost Kimo, when they gave him over for training to the Council. Kimo may have indescribable powers, but his love for his family grounds him in ways he never would have understood before he met Lopaka. The Island of Diura is both beautiful and mysterious for the reader and their family as the story unfolds. The story leaves the reader waiting to see if Lopaka and Kimo will be successful and overcome the decree or will they loose Baby Kimo forever? I can't wait for the next edition of the Phantom Lover series, The Cannibal King's Husband.
