Scorched
Conall "Mac" Macmillan had a thing for bad girls until the last one turned him into a demon. Now he's lost everything. After a depressing return home, vampire Constance asks for his help saving her son, and he finds he can't say no. Mac fights the bad guys, as well as the demon inside him, in hopes of becoming human again. Except now he has found someone who is worth losing his soul for.

I love the first book in this series, Ravenous, and so I was excited to read Scorched. Thought I didn't connect as strongly with Mac and Constance as I had with the couple from previous book, I had a blast reading about them. Scorched is a little on the dark side, with Mac trying to save his humanity and Constance trying to lose what's left of hers. Also, the supernatural prison called the Castle plays a huge part in this book. It has a dark and depressing feel to it, and Sharon Ashwood does a great job of creating the setting. The cast of characters is not small, but I felt like I knew them all and I was comfortable switching from one person to another. Everything flowed together perfectly. Scorched is a terrific follow up to Ravenous, and I can't wait for the next book. Sharon Ashwood has become a must-buy author for me.
