The Mane Squeeze
Gwen O'Neill has had it tough growing up on the streets of Philly as a hybrid shifter and daughter of the notorious Roxy O'Neill. It doesn't help that she has a seriously overprotective older brother who's determined to push her into the life he thinks she should lead. Not to mention, a decades old rival that began with her mother, a roller derby fiasco, a meddling best friend and Gwen is nearly ready to go feral. When Lachlan MacRyrie stumbles into her life and rescues her from a potentially fatal ambush by the aforementioned rival, she's not sure what to do with him and his crazy obsession with honey.

Grizzly shifter Lachlan "Lock" MacRyrie can't quite figure out the little hybrid lion/tiger shifter he saved from a brutal attack. All he knows is that she awakened a vicious protective instinct in him- among other things. The mouthy tigon not only rocks his world, but she fixes his pipes, charms his family, and looks mighty tasty on a pair of roller skates. Now if he could just convince her to give him her heart, he'd be the happiest bear on the planet.

The Mane Squeeze is book four in Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series. These books would be best enjoyed in order.

Ms. Laurenston packs a sardonically sexy punch with her latest addition to the Pride Series. This book is written with the feisty humor that I love this author for. Between laughing out loud and squirming through the steamy scenes, I fell in love with a gentle, but protective, bear shifter. Tough and sarcastic, Gwen seems to be cut from the same cloth the rest of Ms. Laurenston's heroines are. These two share an explosive but tender relationship that made me sad to see the last page of this book. I'll be anxiously waiting for the next Pride book.
