Warrior Lover
It is 1944 and seventeen year old Belle, a member of the French Resistance, is part of a mission to blow up the Toussaint Bridge. The Allies parachute in to assist. Lieutenant Colonel A. Reese, or Ares as he insists she call him, is one of these Allies. After years of thinking only of the war and survival, Belle is immediately smitten by his handsome face and fierce fighting skills.

Ares, the god of war, swore off love centuries ago. When he sees brave, beautiful Belle, he quickly forgets his celibacy vow. Wishing to protect her, he whisks her off to Mount Olympus where she can't be harmed. He vows to keep her there forever. She knows she has to return to earth to carry out her mission. If she doesn't return, the Allies may lose the war. If she does return, she may lose her life.

Warrior Lover is an erotic twist on the legends of the gods. The story begins with Aphrodite's husband Hephaestus catching Ares in bed with Aphrodite. Considering Hephaestus is being cheated on and Ares is a god of war, they have an extremely rational conversation. As this is fantasy, there are some deviations from the usual depictions of the gods. One example is that Hephaestus, normally described as lame, paces. Both Belle and Ares are likeable, intriguing characters. Unfortunately, they lack chemistry as a couple. There is no sizzle. Warrior Lover may appeal to readers interested in a World War II setting.
