Dressing Up is Half the Fun
Ravi, a painter and tattooist, has artist's block and is bored with being alone, but he feels he can't interrupt his lover, costume designer and tailor Max, who's working on Halloween costumes for The Body Shop staff and clients. He's pleased when Max comes home, and checks on the angel wing tattoos he did on Max's back. Max is tired from working all day but ready for some fun, and afterwards Ravi suggests they go to a Halloween masquerade at a sex shop.
Max makes Ravi an outfit for the occasion, and Ravi likes Max's costume so much they nearly don't make it to the party. But they get there in the end and enjoy themselves with some special gifts courtesy of the shop's owner, Rayne.
Though there's not much to this short story, Dressing Up is Half The Fun is still a cute little slice of life. Featuring characters from Misa Izanaki's Body Shop series, the story does rely on the reader knowing who they are and what the overall set-up is, and so while I've read other 'Body Shop stories, I wanted to know a bit more about these characters and their relationship. However it's a sweet, quick read.
