Blaze of Memory
A badly beaten, unconscious woman is left on Dev's doorstep. She and Dev quickly learn who she is, or rather, was, before she was taken and "killed". They both know that she may be programmed to be a deadly weapon against Dev and his people, but that doesn't stop the pull that they feel for one another. As Dev and Katya fight to learn the truth of Ming's plan for her, Dev must also find a way to trust Katya with his mind, because his heart is already hers.

Blaze of Memory is the seventh book in Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling Series. While I haven't managed to read all of the books in this series, the few that I have were phenomenal. Compared to the two or three previous books that I read in this series, I have to say that Blaze of Memory didn't blow me away right from the beginning like the others did. This book took a little time before I really got into it, but then I was hooked.

I enjoyed Dev and Katya. Dev is a strong man with way too much on his shoulders. While he was in danger of becoming too hard, Katya broke right through all that and brought out the soft, loving man that he was meant to be. He is strong, stubborn, and possessive, and I loved every minute of him. Katya survived way more than anyone could ever imagine, but she is a fighter and made it through. I loved her strength and her spunk.

The early relationship between Dev and Katya was frustrating. While I understood the need for both of them to be careful, I also wanted to bang my head against the wall because it seemed for every step forward, they took two back. Ultimately, their love and devotion to one another was probably the most touching love story I have ever read.

If you have followed the other books in the Psy-Changeling Series then I am certain that you will want to read this one. It may not have grabbed me quite as hard in the beginning, but by the end, I was just as invested in Dev and Katya as I would have been any other well-written couple. If you haven't read any books in this series, I recommend that you start with book one and immerse yourself in this very unique and imaginative world.
