Claimed by the Wolf
Claimed by the Wolf is the first book in the Shadow Guardians Series.

Sybil is an apprentice witch who wants to realize her full potential. However, her coven keeps her in the dark because she may be the one to fulfill a prophecy of world chaos. When Sybil buys an old spell book at an estate sale, she has no idea that she has just opened a gate to the shadow world and is now the main feature in the prophecy.

Sybil finds herself at the mercy of five men, the Shadow Guardians. She learns that there is only one way to reverse what she has started. She must become lover to all five men and accept the mark of Inanna.

Much of the focus in Claimed by the Wolf is on the sex between Sybil and the five guardians. The sex is undeniably hot and unique to the paranormal man in each scene. Not only that, but their joining leads to interesting scenes in which Sybil gains control of her newly attained power. However, I felt that the plot suffered a bit because there was such a strong focus on the sex. It seemed that there was much more interesting information and background to be learned than what was actually given in between the passionate scenes.

I enjoyed Sybil from the beginning. She is a smart lady, but she is also quite funny. I found myself laughing at the weirdest moments because Sybil always had some witty comment or thought. It was a refreshing reprieve from the intense emotions that filled this book.

Each man was unique in personality and paranormal ability. Kenric is a werewolf, Kadar is a dragon, Adrian is a vampire, Abaran is a demon, and Ronan is fae. Combine each of these paranormal men and their distinct personalities with Charlene Teglia's vivid imagination, and it made for interesting and touching scenes between Sybil and each man. The most memorable part of this story was the interactions and emotions each man had for Sybil, and in turn, the emotions and power they brought forth in her.

I always enjoy Ms. Teglia's writing style. She has a captivating voice that cannot be denied. Despite my wish throughout this book for a little more plot, I couldn't help but be enthralled by the dynamic relationships formed in this book. I very much look forward to reading the future books in the Shadow Guardians Series.
