Author Carter Brooks may be the descendent of witch hunters, but he doesn't have his ancestor's belief in their existence. Carter's cousin has more than enough belief for the both of them, and if the young author had his way, Carter would have him fitted for a white jacket with long sleeves. Being confronted by him doesn't surprise Carter as much as the unprovoked attack, and subsequent rescue by one Dominic Abernathy.

Dominic is a witch, and proud of it. He knows the rules and doesn't use his craft for harm. Dominic's moment of heroism leads him and Carter down a path he didn't anticipate. Will the men discover the true implications behind their attraction before his cousin's next attack?

Luisa Prieto's Cooking with Ergot incorporates witchcraft and romance to create a story sure to captivate her audience. Dominic and Carter are both fascinating characters. Each man brings something different to the table, making a perfectly balanced couple. While I loved both men, the one who stole my heart in this story was Dominic's familiar. I haven't come across a supporting character like him before, and will admit he truly gave this story a twist to push it onto my "must read again list". Cooking with Ergot has a wonderfully detailed setting, a well-developed plot, and then combines dashes of humor, erotic encounters, action, and suspense. Cooking with Ergoy was a pleasure to read and I recommend it to those who enjoy the genre.
