Good to Know
Artist Jerry McKenzie loves the quiet life his ranch provides. Becoming a guardian to an orphaned relative was never in the cards, but neither was falling in love. William turns Jerry's life upside down, and shows his new guardian the importance of family. William's teacher, David Loewenberger, teaches Jerry a completely different lesson about relationships and finding your soul mate.

D.W. Marchwell's Good to Know is a story about a new beginning for three remarkable characters. The opening scene drew me to William, and had me wishing I could hold the young boy and make it all better. I cannot remember the last time a young character pulled tears from me so easily as William's character.

We watch Jerry and David grow during this well plotted tale. Jerry has to learn to allow love into his life. His reclusive nature battles with the new situation, but it loses quickly thanks to William. David, on the other hand, has to learn to relinquish control. While I understood his motives behind retaining that power, it was easy to see he didn't need it with Jerry.

D.W. Marchwell allows the relationship between the characters to build at a moderate pace, which makes for a more believable union between David and Jerry. The story is set on a beautiful backdrop, and has fantastic scenes where everyone is enjoying nature. There's nothing like a well written story that is not only entertaining but full of life's lessons. I found the story a wonderful read and recommend it to those who enjoy the genre.
