Paige Weston had planned to spend Christmas with her mother and sister in Fiji, but when a child chokes on the airplane, Paige must perform an emergency tracheotomy as the plane detours to Kauai. Paige travels with her patient to the hospital, and when she realizes that they are in Kauai, her painful past comes flooding back to her with the memories of her and Nathan as they planned their wedding then of him dumping her for an ex-girlfriend who was carrying his child. Paige knows that she needs to get away from the island as soon as possible, but offers to help out at the overrun hospital until she can get a flight out. While making rounds she runs into the one person she hoped to avoid, Nathan and his daughter.

When Nathan sees Paige with his daughter, he can't believe his eyes then realizes this maybe his one and only chance to make up for his past mistakes.

Paige was devastated when Nathan turned his back on her but never stopped loving him or wishing things had been different. She did the only thing that she could do and tried to move on with her life. Her strength and determination however was no match for the love they once shared. Nathan did what he thought was best at the time and let the woman he loved walk away. When he realized that he couldn't live without love, he makes plans to make things right, but before he can do anything fate steps in and brings what he desires right to his door.

Ms. McKade has written a fast-paced story with memorable characters, plenty of heat and a touching plot that is sure to please readers and leave them with a smile on their face. 4 Angels!
