Daniel Blake and Aubrey St. Clair have been friends for years, but one night things heated up between them. Afterward Daniel walked away, getting married. London society would never acknowledge a same-sex relationship anyway. Ten years later, both men meet once again at a ball. For Aubrey, the chance to see Daniel again is the only reason he attended the ball in the first place. But Daniel has more responsibility now than he did the last time they saw each other. Will Daniel give love another chance or will his responsibilities get in the way?

Whether Shawn Lane is writing historical erotic romance, as is the case with Another Chance, or modern day contemporary, she never disappoints. Another Chance is about two men living in London society. Both love men and secretly are attracted to each other. This attraction drives them apart, and Daniel ends up doing exactly what is expected of him. I loved the fact that both Daniel and Aubrey are flawed human beings. This is very apparent throughout the story. Daniel is flawed with fear and Aubrey with his temper. These character flaws not only stand in the way of them being with each other but also drove the story’s plot. I will most definitely be reading more of Ms. Lane’s work in the future!
