Shade is a Seminus Demon, a succubus, who lives with a curse that would leave him in eternal torment if it were ever set into motion. Shade has always been aware that if anyone could start the curse, it would be Runa, and he had hoped to have seen the last of her. Now after they have been forced into being life mates, they must help each other stay alive, and try to deal with the passion that is still between them.

First off, I have to say that I absolutely love this book. Larissa Ione has become one of my favorite authors, and I crave for more of her books. The first book in her Demonica series was fantastic, and this is one even better. From the start Shade has been my favorite of the three brothers. He is mysterious and sexy and I fell for him along with Runa. I cannot say enough about him. He has plenty that torments him, but it doesn’t define who he is. He is the perfect romance hero. I think Runa was a terrific heroine for him. She was not one to roll over and accept his orders. She stood up to him, but she knew when to let him take charge. The villain was not what I was expecting but was a very nice twist. He was just evil enough to make it work. The whole world and all the other characters have taken a place in my heart. I was upset at the sad things that happened and ecstatic at the happy. I wish I could go back and read Desire Unchained again for the first time. It was just that good. In a world overflowing with paranormal romance, Larissa Ione has gone straight to the top with this series, and I am anxious for the next one.
