Princes’ Fire

Gitana Danson is heart sick at the disappearance of her sister. Determined to find her no matter what the cost, the only clues she has is a talisman and stories told to them by their old nursemaid Nana. Gitana and her sister grew up extremely poor sometimes barely having food to eat and a home to shelter them; then to make matters worse Gitana was born with powers that she doesn’t understand and that no normal human has. Despite all this Gitana continues to search for her sister and nothing and no one are going to keep her from it. Then a warrior, right out the tales from her Nana, shows up claiming that not only does she belong to him, but also that he knows where her sister is! With everything that she has going on Gitana has no room for a relationship or romance in her life. However, this warrior will not take no for an answer.

Val Zan A’Mar is a warrior of his people looking for his mate and the other “chosen ones” to bring them home to the warriors waiting for them. He knows that even after he finds her and brings her home to Paradise, that the danger will continue. He also knows she is going to test his prowess as warrior and as a man. After waiting for so long for his woman, nothing is going to stand in the way of making sure she is safe and very well loved. Val knows that his nature as a protector is going to cause problems with his mate’s independent nature, but after coming so close to losing her once, what else can he do? He knows that there is an unknown enemy in is home waiting to destroy the only chance he and his warriors have at life and love.

I found this story very exciting and easy to read. It was complex enough without being over complicated; the secondary characters were there to support the main characters without taking over and overly meddling. Gitana is the very epitome of an independent sexy woman. She knows what she wants and makes no bones about it. She rises to every challenge, and looks for more. I loved seeing her in action. Val is enough man to make any woman drool. He’s strong, sexy, loving, kind, understanding, and very supportive of his woman. Women don’t want for anything on Paradise. The men know how to love the women without smothering them. The plot moved along at a steady pace without taking to long to develop. The villain of the story came as a complete surprise. And the love making was totally in line with the passion nature of the warrior, no holds bar all the way make you sweat and grab the ice! I felt very satisfied, and have know doubts that I will read it again. So a very big congratulations to Ms. Carnes on a wonderfully, entertaining well-written story!
