The Wolf’s Sister
Jeren was on the run from her brother who was demented by black magic. Witnessing first hand the madness her only sibling had fallen in and his lack of honor let her further know how dangerous he had become. She had nowhere or anyone to run. Her only hope was the man her father betrothed her to before he died. That is if her brother didn’t reach him first. While she is on the run, she finds the only man who maybe her savior and salvation. She will learn that there are differences between them that will make them re-evaluate their cultures. They will become more than savior and guide; they will be lovers of the heart; and the sacrifices they both must make will either drive them apart or hold them together.
Shan was on a hunt of revenge. Finding the man who had come among his people to train and learn control, but did nothing but savage and disrespect any and everything they held holy. However, the final offense came when the traitor murdered and defiled his sister in a way no woman should ever have to suffer. Shan’s only mindset was to find him and destroy him, wipe him from the face of the earth so that his evil could spread no more. However, while on his personal quest he finds a human woman who makes him think of more than his revenge. She makes him smile and heals him in the most unexpected way. What he doesn’t know is the secret she carries, and how it could very well destroy everything they have created.
The fascination that I first felt when I had the chance to read the blurb for this book was well justified. Riveted from the first page to the last I was looking for more and became frustrated when the story ended. This book was very exciting, the way the plot played out was thoroughly engrossing, and the characters displayed very real emotions. Though there was no sex in this novel I was more than fine with it. I am very intrigued with the people that Shan came from and would like to read more about them, and more then a little curious about what’s going to happen with Jeren and her brother. I hope the author writes more about these two characters or about their tribes of people. I love to read books that make me feel the emotions that the players experience, be it fear, pain, anger, happiness, sorrow and frustration. The battles that these two go through make you ask yourself what next and when will it end, but the ending is very rewarding. Overall, I could read this book repeatedly and find something new in it. Thanks to R. F. Long for a very wonderful read.
