Amanda Halverston is determined to gain the assistance of notorious rake, Rhys Stanton, to help her discover who is threatening her. Rhys has not been able to get Amanda off his mind, and when she asks him to help her, he can't resist insisting on a very special type of payment. Amanda must allow him to try and seduce her if he agrees to help her. Amanda though initially appalled, realizes that her libido and heart have another agenda. Danger lurks around every corner, and someone wants Amanda hurt or worse. Can Rhys protect her and overcome his reputation to make her happy?

Suspense, espionage, and sizzling sex create an entertaining novel, and Ms. Violet does a great job telling the tale. Amanda and Rhys are dynamic together. The persistent conflict between their personal natures creates a wonderful canvas for their story. Amanda is a strong, independent character with an underlying sensuality that makes her very appealing. Rhys seems to be the typical rake when the story begins, but the reader quickly realizes that he is multidimensional and not all is as it appears. I found the story highly entertaining with well-written characters and a plot that kept me guessing. I can’t wait to read more by this talented author.
