Bill Calder is a man down on his luck. His long time relationship has hit the skids after he finds his partner cheating. Dave was not only his lover but his business partner as well, and Bill just walked away from it all. Now he is struggling to find a job to help pay the bills and make ends meet as well as make it through the day.

Tom Davenport is a handsome man that Bill sees at the local coffee shop and later as a fellow employee at his new job. But Tom has other plans for Bill, if only he can convince Bill that it doesn’t matter that Tom isn’t the “employee” that he originally thought.

What can bring two men together when so many forces are driving them apart? Why, a Christmas Spirit, of course! Agnes has a job to do, and she is determined to do it right. Not only is her job on the line but so is the love of two men. Can Agnes make them see reason, or will they choose to go their separate ways?

A Present Christmas is a sweet love story. Bill is a man who is struggling with his own low self esteem and the bad breakup that has brought him to an all new low. Tom is a handsome, successful man, and his interest in Bill is a bit difficult to understand at first, but the longer I read the more I could see the attraction. Agnes is a genuine sweetheart and makes the story fun when it could have all too easily turned maudlin. I like J.P. Bowie, and A Present Christmas left me with a smile on my face a wish for everyone to have a happy ending.
