Hard Ride Home
Trace Tilton is finally coming back to Farley Gulch. Only one thing could make him return after a seven-year absence and that’s his father having a heart attack. He has no plans to stay and as soon as his father is back on his feet Trace is out the door.
Nash Stokes has been the foreman of the Triple T Ranch for years. He’s happy with his life and has come to be part of the family. He has no desire to reveal his sexual preferences and sees no reason why they should be an issue.
What neither man counted on was the other and the attraction that is between them. Can the two men overcome the feelings between them and deny the passion or will they be forced to hide their attraction from the prying eyes of the small town rumor mill?
I loved everything about this book. Hard Ride Home is KyAnn Waters first foray into the world of homoerotic romance and it is completely and utterly awesome! I liked her straight romances but Hard Ride Home takes the prize. Hard Ride Home is filled with fantastic characters, primary and secondary, a great plot, and a writing style that allows the story to flow from scene to scene without pause. Trace is a great character, his reluctance to return home to Farley Gulch and hide his sexuality from his family and the town is palpable, as is his love for his family. Nash is probably my favorite character, weathered, crusty, and tough. He loves the ranch and the family that owns it and his attraction and resentment that he feels the moment he meets Trace is understandable. The dynamic between the two was about more than just sex and the interactions between them with each other and the other characters in the story were well thought out and carried the plot along. I highly recommend Hard Ride Home and hope that KyAnn Waters will revisit this genre in the future.
