Cash Scott is one of the four brothers, two sets of twins, which are victims of the Scott family curse. He has used his dark magick too many times and knows that his time is quickly coming to an end. Before his soul is lost to the dark magick, he devises a plan to save his other brothers from their curse.

Selene has been running from the Organization for too long, and they keep finding her a little quicker every time. While on the run, she runs into Cash Scott and knows that she cannot trust him or herself while in his presence.

The explosive chemistry between Cash and Selene keep them on their toes while they are fighting the Scott curse and various other enemies. Will their love and passion bind them together or force them apart in a fiery explosion?

Pentacles of Magick: The Burning is the second book in the Pentacles of Magic series. Eliza Gayle has done a marvelous with this book, creating interesting characters involved in an intriguing plot. Cash is not a bad man, but he has used his dark magic too much and is flirting with the wrong side of his power. He thinks that his soul is lost, until he meets Selene. Selene is a strong woman with a unique ability, one that is becoming extremely hard to control. I enjoyed getting to know these two almost as much as I enjoyed getting to know Grae and Rena from the first book of the series. After reading the first two books, I do have to say that the first book is better, but this book is still excellent and I highly recommend both books in the series.
