The Merry Widow
Phillipa Jones worked side by side with her deceased husband to build a shipping business. It’s been years since she’s enjoyed the company of a man, and while it’s a move that could destroy her reputation, Phillipa wants to experience the thrill once more.
Reggie, Viscount Bellomont, is no stranger to the hard work it takes to build and maintain a business. He recognizes that Phillipa is his business rival, and wants to find a way for them to work together verses against one another.
A chance meeting, a case of mistaken identity, and passion unlike any Phillipa has ever experienced will begin a series of events that will change her quandary. What will Reggie do to possess the one woman who proves he has a heart?
The Merry Widow takes place during Victorian England when a woman owning a business is frowned upon. Reggie sees qualities in Phillipa that stir him emotionally and physically. Phillipa is a strong woman who would do well in the twenty-first century. Head strong, ambitious, and beautiful, she is more than a match for Reggie. The characters interact well, the setting is charming, and there is just enough drama to add spice to the plot. Koko Brown grabbed my attention from the first sentence, and I wouldn’t recommend anyone begin reading this story while consuming food or drink. I nearly choked with laughter and I knew I wouldn't be putting this story down any time soon. Ms. Brown delivers a wonderfully written regency romance thanks to her interesting characters and wit that is sure to be a winner among those who enjoy the genre.
