Luke finds his romance with Justin just about perfect. Just about, being the operative words. Luke is older than Justin by five years, which makes it hard to understand how Justin could be so in control of their love life. Luke just needs to get one little thing about their love affair right, then his life will be absolutely perfect. He finds that 'one little thing' more difficult than ever, though. And Justin keeps making noise about turning their love affair into a relationship, something that scares Luke to death. What's a guy to do?

I don't normally go for BDSM stories, but this one was absolutely well worth reading. You First is about taking a relationship one step further and Kim Dare tells the story with special skill. Luke and Justin are both likable, relatable characters stuck in a certain place in their lives that seem to mesh well together. The conflict seems to be Luke's alone and his to solve, which allows the reader to get to know him a bit better than Justin's character. I changed my mind about BDSM, at least the way Ms. Dare writes it. This short story is highly recommended by this reviewer. Kim Dare proves herself with You First!
