Outrageous Behavior
Laura Brownell, an heiress and daughter of a cit, is a week away from turning twenty-five. Her age and family situation deems this first season to also be her last. Her prospects for matrimony are not good. The man she adores, the gorgeous Lord Warnock, has yet to speak to her and the man she abhors, the fortune hunting Mr. Hardwick, is about to ask for her hand in marriage.

Desperate and a risk taker at heart, Laura decides to wager it all on love. She stares at Lord Warnock from across the room, gaining his attention. She agrees to dance with him, despite her father's wishes to the contrary. She forgets all the rules about proper conversational topics when speaking with him. As the days of the season wind down, however, she worries that her risks may pay off.

The very, very quick courtship in Outrageous Behavior makes this Regency Romance short special. Skill is needed to take a reader from the first meet to the proposal in 29 pages and have that reader believe the couple will love for a lifetime. Amy Corwin has this skill. Both Laura and Lord Warnock are risk takers. Lord Warnock has a racing stable. Laura has nothing to lose. They know about each other through mutual friends. They have an instant physical attraction. They work as a couple. Outrageous Behavior is a delicious bite-sized Regency Romance perfect for a lunch break read.
