Ready & Willing
Audrey Fine Magill has moved to Old Louisville, where she plans to open her open hat shop called Finery. Her goal is to have the shop ready for business in two weeks. This is when the Kentucky Derby Festival begins. Audrey was looking to purchase some items for her shop. There in the antique shop she found a portrait of sea caption, Silas Summerfield.
That evening Audrey is visited by Silas in her dreams. He tells her that he needs her help. He wants Audrey to convince his great, great, great, great (trust me it is a lot of greats) grandson Nathaniel Summerfield to not go through with his business deal or his soul will be lost forever.
From the first moment Nathaniel saw Audrey he was mesmerized by her beauty. Of course this was till she opened her mouth. Nathaniel is wondering what he did to deserve being visited by a complete nut case. Can Audrey save Nathaniel’s soul or will her next visit be with a psychiatrist?
I thought Audrey was sweet and kind. I really liked Silas. He had this debonair quality about him that only men from that time period possessed. Audrey and Nathaniel made a good match, except that the chemistry they shared was lukewarm and so were the love scenes. I wished that I felt more sparks between them. If you are looking for a good, quick weekend read, then Ready & Willing is that book.
