Gargoyles 1: Gargoyle’s Quest
Lorn De LaRue was determined to protect his Gargoyle heritage at all cost. And, it appeared that Dr. Fatima Smith spoke a few too many true facts for his comfort. So in order to discover how much she really knew, and more importantly where she was getting her information from, Lorn decided to hire her for a little pet project. But from the first moment Lorn saw Fatima he knew that there was something special about her. Could it be that Lorn had finally found his mate?
Gargoyles had always been a fascination for Fatima Smith. While speaking at a conference Fatima encountered a tall, handsome stranger who wanted to hire her for an entire year to look for real proof that Gargoyles existed. Not believing in his sincerity Fatima turned him down. But, Fatima soon discovered that the power of money could conquer anything. Lorn De LaRue would donate a huge sum of money to the university where Fatima worked but only if she conducted her research at his castle in another country. To make matters worst Fatima was strongly attracted to Lorn. Will she be able to keep a strictly business relationship with Lorn?
Gargoyle’s Quest is the first book in Nia K. Foxx’s Gargoyle’s series, and readers I must warn you that this is a “to be continued” type of novel. With that said, I found Gargoyle’s Quest to be an intriguing read and I can’t want to get my hands on the other novels within this series. Ms. Foxx brought forth a multitude of intense interactions between Fatima and Lorn. Their attraction was strong from the get go and it never faltered, not even when Fatima was in denial about her desire to be with Lorn and especially not when she discovered Lorn’s true heritage. Both in and out of bed the passion showcased between the couple was vigorous and astonishing. I simply couldn’t get enough. I am sure that book two will pick up right where this one left off.
