The One That Got Away
David Carmichael is suffering from a migraine. Not only that but he is out of medicine and too sick to get some on his own. Enter Trace Jackson, best friend and knight in shining armor. Happy to help David out, Trace comes over to take care of David. When David has an accident and breaks a shoulder, Trace moves in and settles in for the long haul.

While David is gay, he’s positive that Trace is straight. But the feelings that the close living quarters and intimate nature of Trace’s nursing engender have ignited the flame of passion in David’s heart. As the flame builds higher, David becomes aware that Trace might not be as opposed to the thought of being with a man as he originally assumed. Can David and Trace work out feelings that are drawing them closer to gather or will Trace be The One That Got Away?

I liked this book. I really did. It’s utterly unrealistic, but really I don’t care. The characters were sweet, charismatic, and I quickly became enamored with both David and Trace. I love a good love story, and this is a good love story. The slow build between friendship and love was endearing to behold and very tender. I couldn’t wait for the happy ending that I just knew was awaiting me. At the same time, I was a bit leery of how this one was going to go down, since the title is The One That Got Away. I was holding my breath in fear of something happening to ruin the developing love between David and Trace. I fell under the spell of both men and didn’t want the story to end. I’ve read books by both authors singly and enjoyed them; when the two teamed up the story just got better!
