A Darker Trinity
Nicole is ready for a change. After working for the same company for years, she decides to relocate to Boston. There is just nothing or no one here for her. While at her going-away-party, thrown for her by her coworkers, she is drawn to two handsome men, and is now a part of their trinity. Joseph and James know that Nicole is the one that they need to complete their trinity. They have gone too long without that bond, and they will not risk losing her now.

A Darker Trinity is the second installment of the Moonlight and Shadow series. After reading the first two books, I now realize that the common thread in this series is the Templar Knights. When I read the first book, I thought for sure that the second book would continue that original story. However, I quickly realized that this second book had none of the original characters from the first book, except for the knights.

This book moved at a nice pace for the most part. There were several unexpected, large jumps in time, which could be just a little frustrating. Also, I felt that the main plot revolved around the trinity, which makes sense, and it was a good plot and great characters. However, I think that the first story and this story are just leading up to the main event, which has something to do with the knights. I just can’t help but feel like maybe these two good books could have been made into three really great books, without the side plots. Each plot by itself would make excellent books, but when thrown in together, each plot kind of loses something for me. Overall, this was an enjoyable read. Candice Gilmer has a writing voice that I could quickly learn to love. After the ending of this book, I look forward to reading the third book, so I can learn what happens to Nicole, as promised by the author at the end of the book.
