Down & Dirty: Calling the Bluff
Hazel Young is in big trouble. Her first mating heat is upon her, and she has held it back for so long she is in trouble of hurting herself of someone else. Hazel wants Oliver, the only man in town who appeals to both her and her wolf; the only man strong enough to handle all of her power. The problem is Oliver is still trying to get over the death of his wife, and he won’t touch Hazel.
Can Hazel convince Oliver that her wolf needs him, or is she going to have to settle for someone else?
Calling the Bluff was just as hot as I had hoped and expected from a Moira Rogers book. Hazel is an extremely strong werewolf with a very short temper. She may be little, but she has a huge bite. Oliver is an equally strong werewolf, but he just can’t touch Hazel. He lost his wife five years ago and isn’t ready for what he sees in Hazel’s eyes, and he doesn’t want the long ignored and suppressed dominant wolf to rear it’s head and hurt little Hazel.
As with all of the short books I have read by Moira Rogers, she uses each and every page to the fullest extent. For a short book, the character development was excellent and the passion was explosive. Calling the Bluff moves at a fast pace, the writing flows perfectly, the editing is clean, and I am left wanting more from this author and her talented writing.
