Operation Starseed by J.M. Snyder is a homoerotic sci-fi thriller set in the distant future in outer space.

Neal is manning the navigation deck when a call from out in the regions of space comes in from his old lover Dylan. They were together for eight months when Dylan decided to stay on with the Semper Fi for a mission to map the uncharted regions of space. Unfortunately, this would separate them for two years, and Dylan broke up with Neal. Neal never forgot Dylan and this call brings the memories back. Unfortunately, the Semper Fi get a interstellar radio message using an ancient code. After they deciphered it, they realized it was from Operation Starseed, an effort to colonize space, but a few ships just disappeared twenty years ago. The signal originated in the Epsilon System, and Dixon, the commander decides to send a back up crew, including Neal as navigator. The reunion between Neal and Dylan is red hot as they renew and revive their intimate relationship. Unfortunately, their mission is full of uncertainty as they leave to find out the true meaning of the signal. Could there be remnants from Operation Starseed?

Ms. Snyder has created an epic Science fiction story about the difficulties colonizing space. The idea of space ships disappearing isn’t a new one, but the thought of being trapped on a distant world with no way of getting help is terrifying. Dylan tried to let Neal go, but what he didn’t understand is true love can withstand distance and time. What they find is a group of people that have lived with fear from the unknown that causes problems from within and without, when they can’t accept the feelings between two men. Will they survive these perils and grow to learn that love can conquer all. Thanks go to Ms. Snyder for an incredible story.
