Dream Mate
Dream Mate by Stormy Glenn is sequel to her previously released book The Katzman's Mate.

Chellak, the leader of the Katzmann world, can't wait until his mate Demyan gives birth to their child. Demyan is from the world Elquone were he is classified as a bruter and his only job is to give a child to the person holding his contract; that was until Challak took him away from last ruler of their world who had seized control when Challak was a child. Challak will do everything in his power to ensure his mate is happy, so Challak sends his first in command, Trajan, to Demyan's home world to bring a doctor for the birthing. On Elquone, Saris doesn't know why he has been brought to see the High King, but the reason can't be good for him. Trajan can't believe it when the High King wants to sign over Saris, who is not only a Bruter, but a physician also, to him. The Katzmann laws forbid owning slaves and when he refuses, things go downhill. After Trajan leaves, Saris himself is removed from the Bruter Caste and reassigned to the Vergugen Caste as a pleasure slave. Unaware of Saris's dire circumstances, Trajan goes to talk to Saris and after learning what Saris's fate is, he is determined to not only save Saris, but to claim his mate, the doctor himself. Will Trajan arrive in time to save Saris from a life worse than death? What will happen to Demyan, will his baby arrive before Trajan returns? Will Trajan and Saris have time to explore their budding feelings before time runs out?

Ms. Glenn has continued her earlier book with this action packed sequel. I loved how the characters of Demyan and Challak's lives are continued and set the stage for this story. Trajak experiences a wide variety of emotions that take the reader from euphoria to despair as the story unfolds. In Saris's life of Elquone as a Bruter he has little control because the Caste system allows the few on top to make all the rules. This is one of the reasons why Saris is now only a doctor of the Bruter, allowing him at least a measure of freedom. The first time Trajan and Saris met, they both felt something between them, but can there be anything more between them? Thanks go to Ms. Glenn for a fast paced story that held me riveted form the start.
