Spitfire
After three years on the rodeo circuit and then ten years in the Marines, Rem Bradley's home to stay. The death of his father has prompted Rem to return to Texas to claim his inheritance, the family ranch, and the one woman he's always wanted, Olivia Carter, his spitfire... While Rem's been away, Liv's grown up; in fact, she's been running the ranch for the past six months. Liv's definitely not the teenager he left behind, she's a spirited woman now, and she too is going after what she wants, and that's an explanation for why he left. Rem's back and determined to finish what he started in the barn, ten years ago, with his woman.

Mari Carr's Spitfire is a wonderful contemporary western erotic romance that I really enjoyed. Rem'll set many reader's hearts aflutter; he's a gorgeous, sexy alpha male who's both an ex-marine as well as a cowboy. (What reader can resist a hero who's a cowboy AND an ex-marine?! Certainly not me!) Liv and Rem are well-matched, strong characters. I really liked Liv, she's not afraid to stand up to Rem; she challenges him and won't take any of his crap. This is the first book I've read by Mari Carr and it definitely won't be the last.
