Angeline Kastakis is bitterly disappointed when her boyfriend, Mitch Caradine, the suave, older partner at her firm, fails to show up for their Christmas get-away at his son's ski resort due to a blizzard. Alex is nothing like his father, rude and disturbingly sensual, while Mitch has made no move to get in bed with her. She is confused by Alex's blunt assessment of the situation, claiming that she was not Mitch's type, and her growing fear that she is some sort of pawn being used by both in an intricate long standing feud. However, her fears are swept away by Alex's determination to have her for his own as he wages war, unwilling to accept anything but her complete surrender, at first physically, and then emotionally. He succeeds at both and she is swept away in a tidal wave of passion unlike anything either one has ever experienced.

Unfortunately their blissful tryst is destroyed when Mitch shows up, practically crowing with triumph that his son has fallen for his trap, which is Angeline. Angeline is horrified when Alex doesn't defend her, and it is then incumbent upon him to grovel back to her good graces, if he can.

Beth Kery has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She doesn't fail in her delivery of complex characters, either in short story formats or full length novels. In Holiday Bound, she explores the complicated relationship between father and son and the extent to which their competitiveness almost ruins the best thing Alex has ever found. There is little or with no concern for Angeline, who is caught in the cross fire. Here we get an inside view of Angeline's jumbled emotions as she has somewhat unwillingly fallen for Alex's commanding behavior.

As usual, Ms. Kery also pens some smoking love scenes in which Alex proves his mastery in a variety of ways. His memorable demonstrations of dominance, literally in the sack (a sleeping bag), while they are snowed in are guaranteed to ward off any winter chills. This author's highly erotic descriptions of their physical loving, combined with insights provided by in-depth POVs make Holiday Bound another keeper. Five Angels, Recommended Read
