Apocalypse
Apocalypse by A.J. Llewellyn and D. J. Manly is the fourth book in the Blood Eclipse series.
Rory, Carden, Thiago and Dennis have lived through the vampire/human war, but what of the cost. Carden is in a battle with his uncle who wants to subjugate all humans and take over the world, and he is the only one left who can stop him. Ancient lore tells about the one pure blood vampire who will save the world, and the only one left is Carden. Carden's lover Rory and his friend Dennis with his love and vampire Thiago have lived through hell and back, but it isn't over yet. After Carden and Thiago with the help of some loyal vampires temporarily stopped the fighting, things begin to heat up when they go in search of something or someone who can help their cause. Carden keeps hearing a voice that leads him through Las Vegas that is filled with death and destruction. They soon realize that they are being followed by an unknown group that is bound and determined to destroy them. They find people that seem to have died of hypothermia, in the dessert! Carden is still having difficulty dealing with his insatiable appetite for blood that almost overtook him before the last battle. A friend turns foe as the cat and mouse game continues. Will Carden find the help he needs to save the world? Will Thiago and Dennis's love survive in the chaos? Will Carden and Rory uncover their enemies before it is too late?
Mr. Llewellyn and Mr. Manly have continued their action packed series with this book that is a rollercoaster ride from the very start. I loved all the interpersonal reactions between Thiago/Dennis and Carden/Rory. Their love for each other is easily seen in their continual need to protect each other. Carden is the last of his kind and the burden falls on him. However, Rory won't let him carry the load by himself. Rory's need to protect Carden is poignant and very moving. I love how Dennis never looses his spontaneity in spite of the dire circumstances they find themselves in. I loved how ancient lore about vampires ended up completely true making the reader wonder if there could be a grain of truth in many of the legends that still exist today. This was a wonderful story that kept me spellbound from the start. I hope that this isn't the end for the characters in the Blood Eclipse series. Thanks go to Mr. Llewellyn and Mr. Manly for an incredible read.
