Karl is determined to save the life of the woman who saved him from being a sexual slave, and he needs Captain Rick Raine's help to do it. Rick agrees to take Karl where he needs to go, but he never planned on having to fight unknown enemies on the way. Karl is much more than he expected, and Rick plans to make the most of the trip.

Beyond Meridian is an enjoyable story about two men falling in love while fighting bad guys in space. Settling in with Rick and Karl was a nice way to spend the night. I like both Rick and Karl, but I never really felt a strong chemistry between them. At times, Karl seems to be too naive to be believable, and it makes me wonder what Rick sees in him. Still I was able to get into the book and the lack of chemistry wasn't a problem for me. It's an easy story to follow, and the futuristic world isn't a complicated one. I liked reading about the different places, and C. C. Bridges does a good job creating the setting.. For anyone looking for a fun story to curl up with, Beyond Meridian is a good choice.
