All it took was a single meeting in a small bookstore and Marcus knew. He knew exactly what kind of person Jim was, exactly what he needed, and just how to give it to him. Jim might be saying no, but the signals he gives off are saying something else entirely. Marcus will have to be careful because there is much more to Jim than meets the eye. He means to claim Jim as his own. He's persistent and used to getting what he wants. He just needs to convince Jim that there is nothing wrong with him or his desires. Normal is just a word and a subjective one at that.

Jim feels like he's broken and Marcus's pursuit only makes him feel freakish. He secretly desires the strange and deviant things Marcus wants to do to him. Only after Marcus wears him down does he begin to truly feel like he can trust someone. This unlikely pair will begin a journey together that just may complete them both.

Wow, just...wow. Bent is such a powerful and unusually deviant fairy tale. Don't misunderstand me, this is not the typical feel-good-happily-ever-after romance story, but rather a realistic look at how flawed love really is. I was completely sucked in and enamored with Marcus and Jim. I hung on every word. The ending to this story-I won't spoil it-may leave some people unsatisfied, but I understood why the author chose to not wrap it up nice and neat. Life is messy. Love is messy. It's learning to be okay with that that keeps us sane. Bent is the perfect example of that.
