Cemetery Things
Blake Dodd knows of the stories that the graveyard holds, and why they call it the Devil's Graveyard. He never expected to die from an unspeakable deed and have his mother and brother Brent, so grief struck at his funeral. Blake's death was a hard blow to Brent, but especially to their mother. Now it is up to Brent to find answers to what is actually going on in the cemetery. Crenshaw Poe knows the life of a preacher is a poor one, but that is what he chose. Trying to avoid the temptations of Lucifer, at every turn, can often be hard. He quickly learns how difficult when the young girl at the congregation decides to try to allure him into her arms after the congregation has gone home. Crenshaw is beside himself not knowing what to do, but just as the temptation gets the better of him, four men storm into the church building and haul him off. Donald Maxwell cleverly now has Crenshaw exactly where he wants him. Unfortunately, Crenshaw has heard how evil the man can be and now knows it is payback. Maxwell is tired of the preacher sniffing his nose where it doesn't belong, so he makes sure to scar Crenshaw in the worst possible way. Crenshaw never knew his days after would be turned into a life that would be a way to enact revenge or take sinister actions into his own hangs. Can Brent stop the madness before the whole town is consumed?

I have to say Cemetery Things is truly superb with incredible writing and visualization to make the reader go wow. It definitely captivated me from beginning to end. Keith Latch writes a gory tale that kept this reader on-the-edge-of-the-seat. Yet, he also instills some caring characters with a touch of romance and family values. The fascinating characters are bold and use a wide range of expressions in all their situations. The gruesome torture is so real it is as if the characters have leaped from the pages and are standing right in the room with you. I liked the family of Blake, Brent and their mother, and how one circumstance shows how tight-knit that family has been. This book is so insanely horrific, yet terrific, too. I really found it a mind-blowing awesome read.
