Trouble With The Law
Justine, a guest at her friend Sandra's wedding, has locked herself out of her room. After drinking some left-over champagne and sitting in the parking lot for half the night, she needs to go to the bathroom, but doesn't want to wake half the motel to open her door. So she gets the bright idea of climbing through a window, but as she has no intention of ruining her $2000 dress, she climbs up in her underwear and ends up in the wrong room. The occupants of the room call the police, and Justine is suspected of being a hooker!

Just when she thinks the day can't possibly get any worse, Justine is dragged down to the police station in just her underwear, where she comes face to face with the very sexy sheriff, Mark Taylor. The sheriff sorts out the misunderstanding straight away, and Justine is disappointed with his efficiency because she wants to spend more time with him. He takes her back to the motel, and things quickly heatt up between them. But soon Mark is given a warning from his boss that he's being investigated for having sex with Justine. The only way he can avoid losing his job is for Mark and Justine to pretend they're in love and in a committed relationship. Easy, right? Wrong!

Trouble With The Law was a fun, fast-paced read with characters who seemed real and who I cared about a lot. It was really good to read a story where both protagonists are older than the usual characters in erotic romances. Justine is forty and Mark forty-two, and both display a refreshing confidence in their own skin and with their sexual needs. They're from very different backgrounds, and there's more than a touch of 'The Town Mouse and the Country Mouse' with the story as Mark fits into Justine's glamorous big city life, then Justine fits into Mark's rough country life. The love scenes are sizzling, and the romance is wonderful. This is a feel-good book from start to finish, and I'll be looking for more books from Tatiana March.
