The Dickens with Love
Antiquarian James Winter doesn't follow his instincts any longer. After a scandal that cost him his beloved career and relationship, James is working in a lower variety of his former profession. No one knows books like James, and Mr. Stephanopoulos is quite aware of this. He is offering James an opportunity to recapture his reputation and a commission he is in dire need to acquire. The mission is simple, to authenticate and purchase an unreleased Charles Dickens book. After meeting the book's owner, Professor Crisparkle, it's clear that dealing with the handsome owner changes the scope of the assignment. This holiday season, James may gain what he really needs, true love.

What a fantastic novel. The solidly developed characters are people you can relate to and are flawed just enough to make them believable. Their wit and personalities draw you in, and will have you teetering between laughter and hot flashes. Josh Lanyon stays true to form, building the storyline gradually, allowing the relationship between the professor and James to evolve thanks to some well-placed misunderstandings and makeup sessions. He also brings his humor to the forefront. James was by far my favorite character, because of the amount of class and charm he exudes. If he were a weaker man, he would have lost his temper far more or crawled up in a hole to lick his wounds. Even when he was at his lowest, James was able to put the feelings of others before his own. It's truly hard not to like a man with such a big heart.

To say that I'm pleased with The Dickens with Love is an understatement. For those who enjoy male/male holiday romances, pick up a copy and enjoy.
