No Good Deed
No Good Deed by Lynn Lorenz is a homoerotic contemporary suspense story.

Daniel Chan has always had issues about his sexuality and it didn't help when he learned that his parents had arranged a marriage for him when he graduated from college. It wasn't until later when they were getting a divorce that he found out his parents basically purchased his bride. Daniel's battle with depression began with his parents loosing face and withdrawing from him. His inability to please his wife, his parents or even himself just fed his depression.

Years later, Daniel lives in Riceland, a small town, where he is the captain of the local police. One of the only people who knows his deep feelings is Jeff, owner of a bar called Clancy. One night at Clancy's, Daniel is approached by a hooker which is strange especially when he realizes she knows that he is a cop. Knowing something isn't right, Daniel warns his men to stay away for their own good. Later at work, the dispatcher gets an emergency call for help for an officer down. Daniel takes off to go help his men, but he never expected to find the man of his dreams, Mark Montgomery, seemingly in custody. Is Daniel right and someone is out to get the police in a sting? Who is Mark and is he guilty or a victim? Will Daniel ever get a chance to get to know Mark better or will they stay just strangers?

Ms. Lorenz has created a compelling story filled with drama, suspense, love, and erotic scenes. Daniel is a complex character who is battling his own inner demons. There is more to Mark than meets the eye, and he has to find a way to leave his past behind before he can think about the future. Who is behind the scenes pulling the strings in Riceland and can they be stopped? Daniel has his own suspicions, but as a police officer he needs more than just a hunch. The first time I met Mark all I could think was WOW!! The visual descriptions and his vibrant character brought him to life. Daniel's depression and how he reacted to the events in his life brought tears to my eyes. If two people were meant for each other it is Daniel and Mark. Follow Daniel and Mark as their lives unfold and as they struggle to beat the odds so they can explore their intense feelings for each other. Thanks go to Ms. Lorenz for an incredible read.
