Kate Alexander is in the middle of writing a new BDSM but has been stuck in a writer's block for some time. She thought she could write the novel based on previous experience but it's proving to be quite a challenge. Deciding she needs a little bit of a refresher, Kate opts to spend the weekend at a BDSM immersion experience.

But things don't go as she anticipated when she's treated abominably by a "Dom" who ignores her safe word. When another Dom rescues her, showing that he truly cares for her, can she find it in herself to submit to his loving control?

It matters little if one is in the BDSM lifestyle or more "vanilla", predators abound. Unfortunately, this frightening concern rears its ugly head in Heart of Submission. Thankfully, Kate has a man in her life who's not only able to be her knight in shining armor, but persist in his desire for her so that she's able to see his full intent. Quite interesting is the way that Claire Thompson educates the readers on the dangers that lurk, even when careful.

Unwilling to give away the plot, I'll only say that the hero in this story initially is almost too kind, too gentle for the intensity of BDSM. But once the reader delves into the story, she's able to realize that the most delightful of surprises come in the most unexpected packages. It was also great to see this Dom as thoroughly human with all the issues that occur.

Heart of Submisison is a wonderfully refreshing read, and is sure to please all readers who are attracted to a good bondage story.
