Toil and Trouble
Trevor McGovern and Ian O’Rourke have tallied and tasted most of the lasses in the land. It would appear that the ladies in mention have taken exception to their cavalier attitude towards love and two women curse them to an eternity as cats.
Toil by M.A. duBarry
Trevor McGovern has spent the last 500 years as a cat. When his latest owner, Tabitha Cole, takes him home he is expecting nothing but the life of a pet. But Trevor is in for a surprise when he discovers that not only is his new owner a powerful witch, but she is also being stalked by an evil that will resort to any means necessary to get what it wants. Can Trevor find a way to help her?
M.A duBarry instantly lures readers into this quick read. The premonition of evil will have readers trying to guess what is going on from page one. The main characters are sensual and fun. The scenes between them heat the pages, while also hinting that more than passion is a possibility.
Trouble by C.S. Chatterly
Did Ian get the sexy sister when he and Trevor were taken from the shelter; no he gets the frumpy Marian. Already plotting his escape, his plans are waylaid when Marian starts to undress; perhaps his opinion needs to be revised. When Marian performs a ritual with unexpected results, Ian is torn between staying and leaving before he disappoints yet another lady.
C.S Chatterly takes Ian’s plight and delivers an erotic quickie that has surprising emotional depth. Readers easily understand the hesitation that holds both Marian and Ian from commitment. The scenes between them are hot. As they dream of how things could be, readers can’t help but hope they find a way.
Toil and Trouble takes one theme and delivers two different, enjoyable reads. Ms. duBarry and Ms. Chatterly are to be commended for creating works that blend well together while still being uniquely theirs.
