In Protective Custody

CLICK, as quickly as that, Ashley Kaiser’s In Protective Custody. Two weeks ago she witnessed a crime and now someone wants to stop her from testifying. Alan Brown’s a cop and he wants to protect her. In order to do so, he’s handcuffed himself to Ashley so that he can keep an eye on her 24/7; thereby ensuring her safety until the trial is over.

Alan and Ashley have a history, of sorts. They grew up in the same small town and unbeknownst to the other, both moved across the country to Los Angeles. Alan doesn’t know it, but Ashley’s had feelings for him since the age of sixteen. Being handcuffed is proving challenging for Ashley and Alan; each has feelings for the other, but each is determined to fight them. How long can they hold out?

At 61 pages, Tia Bangs’ debut story In Protective Custody is a quick and entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. It was fun to watch the sparks fly and tension build between Ashley and Alan as they got to know each other and adjusted to being handcuffed together. As you can imagine this set-up allows for amusing events, like how they deal with taking individual showers. Naturally they can only struggle with their hormones and their close proximity for so long before capitulating. Alan and Ashley definitely make a sizzling couple! I’ll certainly be looking for more stories by Tia Bangs in the future and recommend that you do too. 4 angels.
