Locket of Fire

Llewellyn is the King of all the Fey. His family’s Opal Locket of Fire has been stolen and he desperately wants it returned. The locket holds power and magic, and the woman who is able to tap into that will become his Queen.

Katie McMillon is originally from Mississippi, but following the death of her parents and the loss of her job, she decides to travel. The dart she throws at a map of the world sees her travelling Down Under, to the beautiful and picturesque Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. Collecting shells on the beach one day, she finds a gorgeous necklace with a heart-shaped locket, a fiery Australian opal. What does life hold in store for Katie now?

Locket Of Fire is utterly enchanting! Elizabeth Lapthorne spins a charming, entertaining and at times humorous fairy tale. Llewellyn is an endearing hero. Occasionally I wanted to slap him, but his heart was in the right place and he was full of good intentions. He definitely wasn’t an ass! (I can’t abide ass heroes.) Katie is a determined woman and she has to cope with everything that is thrown at her in a short space of time. She’s not afraid to try something new or to stand up for herself. I was so absorbed in the story that I didn’t want it to end; yet having said that, the plot, at 71 pages, suited the novella length. Locket of Fire is lighter in tone than some of Ms. Lapthorne’s other stories, but definitely just as enjoyable. I’m looking forward to reading what she writes next. Elizabeth Lapthorne is definitely a writer to watch! 5 Angels and a Recommended Read!
